If commemorating the first president – a president who couldn’t tell a lie – signifies for you the birth of the nation, then America turned 229 years old on the day of George Washington’s inauguration, April 30th, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon Independence Fireworks are on as scheduled. If you want to celebrate the vote that officially ratified the Constitution, then America tuned 228 years old on May 29th and Independence Day festivals and fireworks will be held throughout Rhode Island’s Patch cities. History paints this day with a broad brush, so celebrate the America you love!
