If you are not a seasoned festival veteran, these are a few precautions one should understand before heading out to a festival this summer. First and most important is to stay cool and hydrated. As you are partying and presumably even consuming alcohol, you need to stay hydrated as you are usually under the summer sun, and it is easy to get dehydrated. You can cool down with frequent breaks in shaded areas or beer gardens. Wear proper attire: hat, sunglasses, comfy footwear, and sunscreen. Make sure you are also paired up with a buddy or a member of your party crew so they can look out for you, and you can do the same for them. Always set up meeting points at the festival grounds in case members of your crew get lost in the crowd, so you don’t panic and can easily reunite with your friends or family.

Why: Dauphin’s Countryfest is Canada’s longest-running country music festival held every year over the July long weekend and hosts over 40 acts from Manitoba to Nashville. Offering all genres from Country, Roots, Bluegrass, Blues, and Rock n’ Roll Countryfest is Manitoba’s largest and most popular outdoor music festival that has prided itself on offering the best concert experience possible for its loyal festival fans for close to four decades.
Incorporated in 1991 as a not-for-profit organization, Dauphin’s Countryfest has experienced tremendous growth and success in its lifetime, currently having an economic impact of $10 million on the region.
With 14,000 attendees per day and over 4,000 campsites, this festival has surpassed all expectations. Community groups and service clubs earn over $150,000 annually and provide over 2,000 volunteers who do everything from collecting garbage to serving beverages and attending the gates at the festival.
Today, Dauphin’s Countryfest maintains its status as Canada’s longest-running country music festival. This not-for-profit music festival is different than any other. It was built by the community for the community. Why: Boxcar Country Music Festival might be small, but it’s mighty and has festival-goers making tracks to the Saint John waterfront for two amazing nights of top Canadian country music artists supported by New Brunswick fan favourites and other homegrown artists.
The Boxcar Country Music Festival will again be at the AREA 506 Waterfront Container Village. It will host a weekend-long country fest featuring some of the very best in whiskey, lots of smoky BBQ, and twelve bands to keep the party going all weekend long. The party is not just limited to the waterfront as many of the bars, pubs, and restaurants like Picaroon’s in Uptown Saint John get into the action, offering numerous before and after party experiences.

We have said this before, and we will say it again, before going to any festival you need to find the one that is right for you, know all the costs and what is and what is not included and what is allowed at the festival grounds, as they will differ from festival to festival. Remember the additional costs for parking, camping, or shuttles, so be aware of this before filling out your bucket list and heading out to any festivals so you do not have any unwanted surprises.
